...in the middle of the street. I made this LO from this fabolous collab by two of my favorite designers, Catherine designs and Createwingsdesigns (and I just happen to be on their CTs ;)). The collab is called Creation 23 and is just filled with goodies.

Waiting for you...

...was soooo hard but you were totally worth the wait !!

Looking back to the wait I see now that it was very short, only 14 month from the decision to adopt until we had her in our arms (7 months from LID to Referral). But the wait was sooo hard because we had been waiting for so many years before the 14 months. Now we have been waiting for about 2 years for a baby sister or a baby brother !!!!!

The first ski trip

A year ago, Matthildur had her first ski trip and had a blast. Unfortunately we have not been able to go again...but hopefully soon. Catherine designs just released a new kit, Winter retreat and it is just perfect for this special moment :-) She also has a matching freebie on her blog, check it out !!

Some news !!!

Am I the luckiest or what !!!!! Catherine (Catherine designs) contacted me and asked if I could be on her guest CT. She is such an amazing scrapper and a designer so the decision was not hard. She has been my inspiration since I started digiscrapping and her gallery was one of the first I bookmarked :-) So....yay !

My newest LO is very dear to me. It is a picture of my daughter Matthildur and her best friend Sigga Bára. Their friendship is very special and they love each other very much, only 5 days apart, both from China and came home together and have this special relationship that I wanted to capture. The text is from an Icelandic song and says: A trusted friend can make a miracle !

2008

One of the highlight of 2008 was our trip to Tenerife, Spain last summer with our dear friends. Matthildur had a blast on the beach and here are some of the photos I took of her playing.

I wish all of you out there in digiland a happy new year and thanks for your nice comments on my layouts. I´m looking forward to a wonderful scrapyear 2009 :-)

Icelandic winter

The Icelandic winter is probably not like most people imagine, yes it can be cold but it can also be mild. I doesn´t get as cold as many people think, when it´s -5-10 °C (23-14 F) it´s REALLY cold. But the weather is very changeble, it rains, it snows, it rains again, then a storm, snow again, sun and still weather....all in one day ;-)

Guess what happened, Dawn from Createwingsdesigns contacted me and asked if I would want to be on her creative team !!! Her designs are just awsome and I´m thrilled.

This is my first creative team. I´ve been a guest designer 3 times but I´ve never really applied to any CT calls, both because I'm a slow scrapper and I only do about 2-4 LOs a months and some CTs requirements are that you do 3-4 LOs a month.....so I would only be doing LOs with this designers stuff....not very good for you creative mind to stick to only one designer....especially if the designer style was not my style ;-)

So I´m happy happy :-)

There won´t be much scrapping for the next days, I´m busy doing Christmas stuff and my next project will be the Christmas card !

An Icelandic Christmas song about the little Christmas child, beautiful song. In this LO I used pictures of Matthildur the first 3 Christmases with us. Unfortunately we were not able to be together her first Christmas.

I made the tree from a single green sprig from Create Wings kit, Winter flight.

My Christmas Calendar

I´ve been busy making my daughters Christmas Calendar. I found it too expensive to buy 24 little presents and usually they end up in the corner after 5 minutes of playing. Also here in Iceland, children get 13 little presents from the Santa Clause in a shoe placed in the window seat from Desember 11 until December 24 so I thought that was enough.

I wanted to do something different so I decided to make 24 little notes and on each note there is a promise of a quality time with the family for example: go to the movies, take a walk in town and go to a coffie house, stay at home and make Christmas crafts, rent a Christmas movie, decorate the house, sleep with grandparents and so on. Just ordinary things made special during this special time :-)

Here is the calendar, just a white plate with 24 little frames, frames I had, some I painted and some not and I also bought some new frames.

Here is a close up, under each frame there is a little note tied to a nail.

I used Mindy Terasawa´s Jolly lil Friends kit and stickers, just perfect for this project.

And here is Matthildur opening the first note this morning, very happy because her best friend from playschool was coming home with her to play :-)

Brrr....

It´s been very cold here in Iceland the last few days so when I saw this beautiful kit by Create Wings, Winter flight I just had to have it ;-)

Matthildur

..is my beautiful daughter. In this LO I used Hollies new kit, Krafty Kringle, a beautiful kit available at Oscraps. It´s my first LO as a guest at Holliewood studios and I´m so excited :-)

My biggest gift...

..is you, my beautiful golden girl :-) There are so many beautiful Winter / Christmas kit´s out there right now and in this LO I just mixed them all together. You can see credits here.



I´ve not been scrapping much lately because I´ve been making an Advent Calendar for my daughter. I´ll show you that later ;-)

Yes, and one more thing ;-) Hollie from Holliewood studios contacted me yesterday and asked if I would want to be her guest for this month....and of course i said yes. She a wonderful designer and I can´t wait to scrap with her goodies :-)

Christmas girl - Jólastelpa

I did this LO for a challange on an Icelandic scrap forum. The page had to be inspired of this page. Everything had to be in black and white with just one color. These pictures are from Christmas last year.

Winter star

Awww....I had the most fun with this LO. I just love to create a little fairytales with simple photos and awsome kits. And believe me, this kit is just awsome. A collab of two of my favorite designers, Jofia design and Milla design and it´s called Winter Song !

Still working on these summer pictures from Tenerife, it´s nice to do summer LOs when it´s freezing outside ;-) Still need more hours to finish everything I have to do, including scrapping. I´m good if I manage one LO a week these days ! In this LO I used Fei Fei´s different strokes brushes and they are so cool. I was so lucky to win the brushes on her blog, thank you Shaui :-)

Fairytale forest

Finally, finally, finally....I did a LO. My mojo has been somewhere else in October and I'm so glad I was finally able to sit down and create this fairytale LO !

September 2008

Matthildur and I took a stroll along the river the other day and I took alot of beautiful fall pictures. This is one of them. The fall has been very wet and windy here in Iceland so all the leaves are falling of the trees before the get their beautiful fall colors !

Perfection

Sorry guys.....to me my daughter is just pure perfection, look at that face ! Again, I´m using Catherine´s kit, now Summer Evenings. I just love her new stuff :-)

Watch over me

egan Fisher of Megan designs just RAKed me with her new kit, Starry Night and it´s so gorgeous and dreamy. I made this LO with it and I pretty much recolored every element on the LO. It´s very hard for me to use a kit straight from the "kit", I always have to recolor, change levels and curves etc and blend the elements and papers....but that´s just so much fun :-)

Freeze time...

...well if I could, I would...just for a little time ! Time just goes by too quickly !

I´m so excited. On of my favorite scrapper, Catherine (Chud23) is starting designing and her first kit, Zen Attitude is coming out tomorrow at After five designs. I was so lucky that Catherine chose some girls to scrap a LO from her kit before friday....and I was one of the lucky girls. So here is my LO from her gorgeous kit !

I´m a rather slow scrapper these days. I only manage to do one LO a week but I hope to be able to do at least 2-3 in the near future ;-)
