Dagur 23
Þorláksmessa
Um daginn fóru stelpurnar mínar í smá lautarferð (sjá hér). Hérna eru þær svo búnar að stilla upp öllu svona smekklega...hehe.
Svo fáið þið annan póst seinna í dag :)
Day 23
Þorláksmessa - Mass of St. Thorlac
Þorláksmessa is an Icelandic holiday celebrated on December 23. In modern times, Þorláksmessa has become part of Christmas: on the 23rd, many people finish decorating their houses and the Christmas tree, and buy Christmas presents. On Þorláksmessa evening in Reykjavík, many people go out and stroll down Laugavegur. In western Iceland it is customary to eat buried and fermented skate (salted fish) along with potatoes on Þorláksmessa; in recent years, this custom has become common in the rest of the country as well. The ammonia-infused odor of fermented skate is quite strong, similar to that of hákarl (shark).
Today I have a little Winter Picnic decoration for you. Here is the first post and later today you´ll get another Winter picnic post :)
